Cotton Carrier Covert Vest - White
BALLISTIC LEVEL II STAB LEVEL 1 SPIKE LEVEL 1
This is a covert vest, designed to be worn under clothes
Only issue that I have is that my body composition and morphology makes the back of the product quite difficult to make flush with my back itself. But the quality speaks for itself. I feel extremely safe and confident with this piece of kit.
Firm believer that all 'life saving gear' must be of highest quality you can afford - and quality extends to the service provided. Contemplated for a long time , but made purchase faced with a specific cogent work threat. Focusses the mind!
I trust NIJ bona fide ratings - so that is an important element for me. Whilst I am in the slightly unusual position of being connected to an RFD and a Firearms Instructor ( though purchase driven by Security work I do ) so the ability and temptation exists to test such products; pragmatically I'd rather rely on a known standard.
Purchase and delivery service were flawless - were it not for my remote Scottish address, the item would have been with me within 24hours.
There is a mine of information within the website, but a brief note on wear, adjustment and care would be useful - or even simple reference to Youtube vid of the same.
Knife protection is going to involve stiffness, but I found the vest very comfortable in deed and 'discrete' beneath a black polo that is my mandated uniform wear. On the security side I am employed by a very high profile Education Establishment - body armour must be utterly discrete. Very few notice it at all.
There is a degree of 'break in' but I found it minimal, though worth doing ahead of a twelve hour shift!
Overall quality is very good and I found the sizing advice pretty spot on - only sizing observation would be to run some of the overt products into larger sizes for us chunky types please! ( subtle hint, nudge )
In terms of construction I have only one main observation and it is - thankfully! - based on second-hand info. The waist adjustment velcro/ elastic system works well. But on this version the elastic is seam stitched into the back panel. Given perfect fit, this makes for a flush fitting. However, I hazard that most wearers find a degree of overlap required. In the current format the 'gap' faces forwards, there is no ability to overlap rearwards. From actual experience, this leaves the vest a tad more obvious than it needs to be. The hearsay element is that it is improbable, but possible, for an incoming round to enter beneath the overlap from the front and cause surface damage to the wearer that would be prevented by a rear facing overlap.
Be clear - very much analysing completely to death on this and should be read a. as constructive and b. 'if that is his only problem'! context.
Once saved up and if I can find a larger end sizing, I will be back for a heavier overt vest - I am a very satisfied customer; gravity of the subject fully appreciated.
When at work I have a uniform that ways a lot and the importance of wearing a lightweight bullet proof vest is high. I went for this vest and its not only lightweight the Kevlar material is very comfortable and I couldn't be happier.
I rang the Safeguard team and asked for something comfortable. They pointed me in the direction of this vest. It is nicely it fitted and very comfortable the material is very smooth against the skin.
I went for this vest because I wear my vests so regularly and wanted something with nice material. This is just what I was after. The vest does the job and I can wear it all the time without having any problems with the material.
